 The
Health and Safety Executives (HSE) mission is to protect people's health and safety by ensuring risks in the changing workplace are properly controlled.
Staff from a range of backgrounds - including administrators, lawyers, inspectors, health and safety awareness officers, scientists, engineers, technologists and medical professionals - contribute to this aim.
HSE looks after health and safety in construction, manufacturing, nuclear installations and mines, factories, farms, hospotals and schools, home workers, offshore gas and oil installations, the safety of the gas grid and the movement of dangerous goods and substances, and many other aspects of the protection both of workers and the public.
